Booya was bred by McCutchens and broke by Lightning Arrow Ranch in Simms Tx by the Welch's. He then was in Illinois and shown in a variety of diciplines including reining, trail ridden, ridden in parades, worked on cattle and buffalo, etc.
I bought him in 2009 and have shown him for the past two years in reining and used him for cattle work as well as penned and sorted on him. Last year we won the Most Improved award for our district, and this year we won the year end high point Open Reining as well as the Open Reining at the Summer Spectacular of the SOTC. Tex is simply a good horse. After 2 years in the pasture the owner has lost interest in reining. With over $8000 in NRHA life time earnings he has proven himself. Earning money in the Open, Non Pro and Rookie. If you are looking for a solid Rookie, Green Reiner or Short Stirrup candidate help yourself.
Slick is a very nice looking Palomino Reiner. Extremely well-schooled. He knows his job and does it well. Low-headed, nice consistent circles, easy lead changes, a real pleasure to ride. No bad habits - doesn't buck, crib, bite or kick. He loads, grooms, ties - just a true easy keeper. This horse can be a great start for a Youth rider and definately skilled enough for the Rookie and Non-Pro levels. Slick is Sound - (recent full exam - available). Our 11 year old granddaughter (who just graduated off the lunge line) hopped on Slick and cantered off in the large outdoor arena and he took good care of her!
